BCARS Meeting Minutes - November 2nd, 2023
A meeting of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society was called to order at 1930 hours at Bedford American Legion Post 113 by President Zachary Pepple and a quorum was declared.
In attendance were (12):
John KB3DFZ, Lance Hogenmiller, Zach KC3KHK, Steve KC3DNB, Tony KC3QOD, Gary KC3HKZ, Bernie W3DRW, Kip N2XRE, Steve KE3ZT, Steve KA3UDR, Kenny WB3JEK, Bill N3EYF.
Meeting Minutes were presented by John KB3DFZ. Motion to approve was made by WB3JEK and seconded by KA3UDR. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Steve KC3DNB. Steve discussed various checks received, checks issued and cash deposits. The ending balances are:

A motion to approve was made by KE3ZT, seconded by KC3HKZ. Motion carried. The full treasurer’s report is on file.
OLD BUSINESS
Western PA Set was discussed. KC3KHK, KC3NAF, KE3ZT, and KB3DFZ sent winlink messages on October 7th simulating emergency communications between county EMA and American Red Cross offices.
Bedford Halloween Parade N2XRE and KA3UDR participated in this event, operating the BCARS communications van and a good time was had by all.
VE Session and Workshop will be held November 4th, starting 9:30 at the Legion.
Bedford County Holiday Lights Display was discussed, as BCARS was previously invited to enter the VAN as a display. It was decided to do so if members could provide some decorations. KB3DFZ volunteered to set up his tower as well with lights.
