BCARS Meeting Minutes - May 7th, 2026
A meeting of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society was called to order at 1930 hours at Bedford American Legion by President Zachary Pepple and a quorum was declared.
In attendance were (7):
Kip K3IP, Steve KE3ZT, Kenny WB3JEK, Zach KC3KHK, Jay K3SCM, Lloyd K3QNT, and Bernie W3DRW
Meeting Minutes were presented by Zach KC3KHK in the absence of Secretary John KB3DFZ. Motion to approve was made by K3QNT and seconded by W3DRW. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report (April, Updated) was presented by Lloyd K3QNT. Thanks were given to new and renewing members. The ending balances are:

A motion to approve was made by K3QNT, seconded by W3DRW. Motion carried. The full treasurer’s report is on file.
Old Business
Bloody Run - May 16th
The primary frequency will be on the 145.490 repeater. Volunteers should meet up at Burger King at 8AM, travel to pavillion or designated location for a race start at 9AM.
Coffee Pot Special Event - October 3rd. KE3ZT to submit info to ARRL. Operating 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. QSL cards will go to K3QNT and be forwarded to KE3ZT to process.
New Business
Summer Field Day - June 27-29. Reservation confirmed for east beach at Shawnee State Park. Confirmed as an F station. 3-4 antennas planned. Bernie looking at setting up as a GOTA station. Lloyd bringing Winlink to send a message to ARRL. Motion to reimburse Lloyd for Shawnee rental was made by KC3KHK, seconded by W3DRW. Motion carried.
Banking Options. Discussion on whether we should look at other banking options (Altoona First, Somerset Trust). K3QNT will investigate. Motion to approve was made by W3DRW, seconded by KE3ZT. Motion carried.
With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by W3DRW, seconded by K3QNT. The meeting was adjourned at 2005 hours.
